Apparently a lost treatment (commissioned by the late Stanley Kubrick from author and sometimes collaborator Jim Thomspon) is coming to the big screen. After the director's death in 1999, the manuscript entitled 'Lunatic at Large' was discovered by Kubrick's son-in-law Philip Hobbs.
The film has stars Sam Rockwell (Moon, Iron Man 2) and Scarlett Johansson (Iron Man 2). Hit the jump for more details...
Pretty sure "bang bang, I kill, kill" Hip Hop is dead and over... oh well, so be it. First street single for R.E.D. The second, which features an assist from Justin Timberlake, should drop soon.
Fox apparently is running a featurette on each character in the upcoming remake/sequel/prequel/whatever. The Robert Rodriguez produced film hits theaters July 9th.
CHUD is reporting that the hilarious annoying comedian/actor Jamie Kennedy is in current negotiations to return to the 'Scream' franchise... which is odd (SPOILER WARNING) being as how his character Randy Meeks was killed off in the second installment. Hmm. Oh well.
The Classic Controller Pro for the Nintendo Wii hits shelves with Monster Hunter Tri on April 20th. It will come as a pack-in with the game (in black) or as a standalone (in black or white). The MacBook Pro design has remained mainly unchanged from the last model, with it's aluminum enclosure, black keyboard, and multi-touch trackpad. New features include: Intel's Core i5 and i7 processors, NVIDIA's GeForce 330M graphics card, a video-card switcher for battery conservation, and a 10hr battery life. Although, to take advantage of these new additions, you'll need the pricier 15" or 17" models.
A new animated Spidey series, 'Ultimate Spider-Man', was announced today to debut in Fall 2011 on Disney XD. WorldScreens quotes Eric Rollman, President of Marvel animations...
"Ultimate Spider-Man will be a unique journey exploring our favorite web-slinger as he teams up with other fan favorite Marvel Super Heroes in never before seen stories with a new life filled with great challenges, new friends, intense action and character growth."
Presumably, 'Spectacular Spider-Man' will get the boot and this series will take it's place. Meh.
While the world awaits the second coming of Christ that is "Airplanes Pt. II f. Eminem & Hayley Williams", take a moment to listen to whom the song actually belongs to discuss said song.
According to producer Shinsaku Ohara, the original Dead Rising "felt too japanese". Speaking with CVG, Ohara discussed the development of the first installment, saying it was made "in a very Japanese style."
"We had some help from America, but basically it was all done in Japan. We wanted to do it better for a Western Audience this time. Together we've come up with crazier ideas than we did in the first game. What we didn't quite manage in Dead Rising 1 was that it still felt too Japanese. We're much closer to feeling like a Western game with this title."
The rumors are over. Joss Whedon is in final negotiations to direct Marvel's 'The Avengers'. While Whedon's directorial experience is shy (only 'Serenity' under his belt), he's well-versed in the comic universe writing "The Astonishing X-Men" back in 2008 and he had a stint on Marvel's "The Runaways".
'The Avengers' will star Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Chris Evans as Captain America, and Chris Hemsworth as Thor. Scarlett Johansson is rumored to pop up in some form as The Black Cat and I'd think Marvel would like to have Edward Norton return as Bruce Banner/The Hulk, but we'll see.
'Captain America' and 'Thor' are filming this year, giving an estimated 2011 mark for production to kick under way for 'The Avengers', for it's May, 2012 release date.

If my 360 didn't shit out a week before the release of the second installment, I'd most likely be buying this. Oh well. Gears of War 3 will be released on April 5th, 2011.
Reported by the LA Times, who caught up with legendary 'Jaws' producer Richard Zanuck and asked about revisiting the 1976 classic. Zanuck revealed that Steven Spielberg and himself have considered doing a re-release pulling a greedy George Lucas, and shooting the film into theaters again... this time converted into 3D.
In the name of Mel Gibson, when will this 3D bullshit stop?
