According to two separate press releases issued today, Netflix has signed agreements with both Universal Studios Home Entertainment and Twentieth Century Fox that will prevent the retal service from carrying the studios' new releases until 28 days after they flood the streets. Hit the jump...

This news comes just three months after Warner Bros. Home Entertainment struck a very similar deal with the popular internet rental store.

The Universal press release states that in agreement...
"Netflix receives the benefits of reduced product costs, significantly more units and better in-stock levels...At the same time, a license for...streaming content allows netflix to provide its more than 12 million members more movies they can watch instantly."
The first title covered under the deal with Universal is It's Complicated (April 27th) while James Cameron's Avatar (May 25th) will be among the first titles in the Fox deal.
