In response of the newly announced remake of The King of the Monsters coming from Legendary Pictures, I opted to use this material as the first of an ongoing series to be featured here on BGW.

 Baragon

For a while, I viewed this monster as a giant, oversized bulldog, because in a way, he is. After viewing GMK again recently and realizing that while Mothra and King Ghidorah get put in the title, this fella doesn't. Also, he's destroyed in almost record breaking time. It was at this time that I realized Baragon should have been #10...

Mechagodzilla

He's been an alien under Godzilla's skin, rebuilt, Japan's only defense against Godzilla (3 or 4 times), and has changed his appearance almost as much as the big man himself. Despite the fact that every time he was perceived as a military weapon he froze up and got the shit kicked out of him, Mechagodzilla is one of the most recognizable and loved Kaiju in Godzillaverse.

 Mothra

Fully equipped with 2-inch tall Japanese twins singing the sexiest song in history, Mothra has spawned her own movie series (The Rebirth of Mothra) and has many, many alternate forms. I never understood why her friends were the size of a Bic Lighter though...

King Ghidorah

The ultimate badass villain: Ghidorah. Obviously, a dragon's gonna come up pretty high on a top ten list... but a three-headed, alien dragon who fires lighting bolts from each head? Yeah, it's obviously #2 behind...

Gojira

You can try and try, but you can't top the original king. Since his creation in '54 he has spawned more sequels than James Bond. Which side he represents, good or evil, is swapped almost every film. He's killed off in half of the films, yet keeps on coming back. The only time this thing was ever shamed upon was when he was perceived as a tuna eating lizard in the '98 remake...
